The library sorts by total impressions, so page one is the competitor's biggest ads. The field that matters is the start date: an ad still running after three months is making money; a batch launched the same day is a creative test. The full reading method is in the guide.
FAQ
Does this link log into my Facebook account?
No. The Ad Library is a public page that needs no login; the generated URL just writes your filters into the address, exactly as if you had clicked them in the library.
Why do I have to pick a country?
The library defaults to ads delivered to your own region. If a competitor only runs ads in the US and you are in Taiwan with the country left on Taiwan, you get "no ads found". Switch the country to that market, or to all countries.
Where do I find a Page ID?
Open the Page → About → Page transparency → See all; the Page ID is listed there. Or search the Page name in the library, pick it from the dropdown, and copy the number after view_all_page_id in the address bar.
Keyword search versus Page search: what is the difference?
Keyword search returns every ad whose copy or Page name contains the word: ads that mention you, impersonate you, or warn people about you. Page search lists only the ads that one Page is running. To see what a competitor actually runs, use Page search.
The generated URL opens with zero results. Is the tool broken?
Usually not. The three common causes: wrong country (they do not deliver there), status set to active while they are not currently running anything, or platform set to Instagram while they only run on Facebook. Set country to all and status to all and try again.
Can I search Instagram Stories or Reels ads?
Yes, set the platform to Instagram. Placements (Stories, Reels, feed) are shown separately inside each ad's details, but the URL cannot filter to Stories alone.
How is this different from a paid ad spy tool?
Paid tools store the library's data over time and add sorting and trend charts. The library itself does not show spend (except for social-issue ads) and cannot sort by how long an ad has been running. The free method is to read the start date and count; the guide explains how.
